Re: Name spelling for 'Emahoy Tsegué-Maryam Guèbrou'
Hello, I work for the Emahoy Tsege Mariam Music Foundation and Emahoy Tsege Mariam Music Publisher. These entities were founded by Emahoy's family on her behalf– in her will and testament she betrothed her entire catalogue to the Foundation. I saw that you opposed the change in spelling for Emahoy's name on her Wiki entry. The English spelling, "Emahoy Tsege Mariam Gebru" is what has been chosen by the family to represent Emahoy's "branding." It is how her name is spelt on all recent album releases by Mississippi Records. Publications in the past have used the French spelling because that's how it was spelled on her most popular release, Ethiopiques 21, released by the French label Buda Musique. We have been trying to make this English spelling the standard, and changing the spelling on her Wiki would be a great step. This is the wishes of the family of Emahoy Tsege Mariam Gebru, who are also the owners of the copyright of her name and image. I am unfamiliar with the 'user' side of Wikipedia (I started this account just to get Emahoy's name changed) – if it is within your power to make the change, please do so. Thank you very much.
