Peer Review
Hey I'm Caroline and I did a peer review on your article!
I think this ginger milk curd article is absolutely well-written. As a native of Guangdong, I love ginger milk curd and thus find this very delightful to read and totally accurate. I think it’s very nice the author talks both about what this dessert is and where it comes from. The article satisfactory explains how the enzymes from ginger can be used the naturally coagulate milk besides the cultural context and preparation. The scientific details and professionalism elevate this work above standard food writing. Every aspect is thoughtfully covered. The author's representation of Cantonese culture represents my favorite part. Cantonese culture gives me a warm feeling which I relate to. As a lover of Cantonese desserts (ginger milk curd in particular), the article’s description of its silky textures and comforting qualities reminded me of my love for these delicious desserts. The opening section could be summarized in the introduction based on the article not to mention any reveal of what is contained in the main sections above. This includes its scientific background, cultural importance, and fame away from Guangzhou. The usage of “Cultural Significance” section could incorporate more details about when this particular dessert is traditionally eaten and how it differs from similar desserts, such as double-skin milk. It would give the article a greater human touch. Overall, this piece is already quite excellent. The writing is clear, information-rich, and accessible. With a somewhat longer introduction and greater cultural context, it would be the perfect example of how entries on food on Wikipedia go beyond scientific accuracy to include tradition and feelings.
