Mass graves associated with the Sri Lankan Civil War

Hi, thank you for your edit on the article, but as you can see the article is about a very specific period in the history of Sri Lanka. The title you suggested implies the article is about mass graves throughout the history of Sri Lanka. I see you live in Sri Lanka, in your opinion, is there a reason for an article covering mass graves throughout the history of Sri Lanka? ShoBDin (talk) 09:24, 9 December 2025 (UTC)

@ShoBDin: The article itself includes mass graves across the History of Sri Lanka including those that are not associated with the Sri Lankan Civil War like the JVP insurrections which are a different conflict entirely and several of major Sri Lankan Mass Graves are associated with the JVP insurrections in addition to the Sooriyakanda and Matale graves already mentioned there is also the ongoing Colombo Port Mass grave. Titling the page as exclusively associated with the Sri Lankan Civil War is inaccurate when it includes those from the JVP insurrection and there are massive graves of uncertain origin. - UtoD 10:55, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for that, it really helps. I am aiming at creating an article dedicated to the mass graves linked to the Civil War and the JVP insurrections, as this became more of a news lately. I was wondering if you could help me to better focus my article on this current issue that is in the news? ShoBDin (talk) 12:20, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
@ShoBDin: The Chemmani grave is already in the article. The other mass grave currently being excavated in the Colombo Port is missing. 1 2 3 - UtoD 18:30, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
As i understand, the JPV insurrections took place during the Civil War. so the article can include mass graves related to both events. Which are the mass graves i mentioned in the article that are not connected to two events? ShoBDin (talk) 08:15, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
JVP insurrections happened before and after the beginning of the Civil War. The American war in Afghanistan happening during the Iraq war doesn't mean they were the same conflict. A country could be in different conflicts at the same time doesn't mean one conflict is directly under the other. -UtoD 10:10, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
Yes, but i am trying to narrow down the mass graves to time period i mentioned and you are not being helpful.

Would it be more accurate to talk about mass graves per event? or in the Notable sites section to divide to: Mass graves linked to the civil war and then: Mass graves linked to the JVP uprising? Could you offer a correct structure for this article making it correct? ShoBDin (talk) 09:25, 18 December 2025 (UTC)

@ShoBDin: Then it would be more accurate to title it Mass Graves in Post-Indepence Sri Lanka. -UtoD 16:17, 24 December 2025 (UTC)
