August music
Thank you for music on my talk! -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:09, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
- I miss Paco! Just started Stumm (organ builders). There's a lot of bloat on German wiki, and a huge list, but will see if I can add more sources soon. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:24, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for that project, - I agree that organs are over-covered on de. I had three bios in the news section when the day began, and Jill Gomez is my favourite, - my story of course! - Places are particularly bright today: for a Voces8 concert you would have loved. - I'LL translate some of Gomwz to de, - couldn't believe she had no article there (in spite of her stunt with the boas at Oper Frankfurt). --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:20, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
- You say German wiki is hard for even native German readers to read! There are certainly a lot of big, thick verbose paragraphs on there! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:21, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
- I agree. Here however, I just meant that the details of organ building and stops are covered in a detail that I usually simply drop instead of translating the fancy names of stops, - I believe that enthusiasts will know where to find these tables. Did you read about the boas in the Telegraph obit? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:14, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
- No, where was that? ♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:14, 19 August 2026 (UTC)
- Oper Frankfurt, where I go most. - Ileana Cotrubaș is on the main page, also my story, - expanding was tough, and there are still "holes". Just 41 roles, and not all yet mentioned. (The next soprano sang 135 roles.) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:55, 26 August 2026 (UTC)
- When the day began, there were both sopranos, and DYK also had one, Felicity Lott, - remember? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:51, 28 August 2026 (UTC)
- Can't really remember that to be honest! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:49, 30 August 2026 (UTC)

2,500 Nordic challenge / 20,000 European challenge
Hi, Dr. B! It's been a long time, but a decade ago you helped encourage me at FAC for The Oceanides. Today, I discovered your Nordic and European challenge pages, and I had a few clarifying questions: 1) should I list FIN articles on the Nordic, on the European, or on both lists? 2) Can I retroactively add articles I've created or expanded from past years that, had I known about these challenges, I would have added upon creation/expansion ... or should I keep it just to things I do going forward? Thanks! 〔 Silence of Järvenpää 〕 19:25, 26 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hi, great to see you! If the Nordic challenge is still active you can list at both, though I thought the idea was that entries were tipped into the European challenge every 100 or so. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:24, 27 August 2026 (UTC)
Fontainebleau Development
Hi Dr. Blofeld, I'm working to update the Fontainebleau Development article. I see that you are a member of WP:Hotels, so I hope you'll be interested in the edit request I posted here: Talk:Fontainebleau_Development#History_section_update. Would you be willing to take a look?
Thanks for your help, LawrenceBraverman (talk) 14:56, 31 August 2026 (UTC)
Removal of LLMPRODs
In you removed an LLMPROD from an article which was disclosed to violate both NEWLLM and NOLLM. This is contrary to policy passed in May 2026. Removal of an LLMPROD indicates, unlike a typical prod, that you take responsibility for the content which remains in the page. The article was later found to have at least one significant hallucination.
I don't want to have to go through your entire history to look at whether you did any more inappropriate removals of LLMPRODs, so it would be appreciated if you could disclose any other LLMPRODs you removed so they can be appropriately reviewed. It would also be appreciated if you did not remove LLMPRODs from pages unless you have carefully checked the content for style and verification issues and are prepared to take responsibility for any remaining failed verifications. Fermiboson (talk) 19:20, 3 September 2026 (UTC)
- My point was valid, the articles should be checked first. Even one or two hallucinations doesn't warrant the nuking of an entire article. No, I haven't the time like you do to spend policing LLM content or disputing it. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:49, 3 September 2026 (UTC)
September music
Today's story has a sad end: Antonino Fogliani, mostly Rossini -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:41, 5 September 2026 (UTC)
- Only 50?? That's very sad. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:42, 5 September 2026 (UTC)
- Yes. 100: Geles Cabrera, a Mexican sculptor - I didn't look much at the Spanish refs, - perhaps it's easier for you to search for things not yet mentioned. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:44, 9 September 2026 (UTC)
- It looks in good shape! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:49, 11 September 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you! Ralf Richter (actor) doesn't, and I have no time ... --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:30, 15 September 2026 (UTC)
- I have two topics in today's OTD corner - check out story and music, I decided for Verdi (the conductor who said "I love all of Verdi" and conducted by heart) over Bach because that cantata sits on sort of the wrong date ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:18, 22 September 2026 (UTC)
- Well done! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:27, 22 September 2026 (UTC)

DCWC September update
The 2026 Developing Countries WikiContest has now been running for two months! We have seen tremendous improvements in the encyclopedic coverage of several underrepresented areas thanks to contributions from a wide range of editors. The coordinators would like to highlight some of the new participants this year who have been making notable contributions to the contest, including but by no means limited to:
- Kisseran (submissions) – 462 points, with a featured article (Ancient Cappadocian language) and various reviews primarily on Chinese topics
Dragonhawk12 (submissions) – 280 points, who's well on their way to breaking the DCWC record for good article reviews and peer reviews- Jishara (submissions) – 268 points, with a couple of good articles and a diverse selection of reviews as well
Rainsage (submissions) – 113 points, with two good articles, notably the Jenin Horse
Chickenpox4dinner (submissions) – 107 points, largely from their Did you know writing about Caribbean folklore
Propitheque (submissions) – 105 points, from two good articles about Malagasy lemurs
With less than a month remaining until the end of the contest, it's time to get your last rounds of submissions over the finish line! Please consider picking up one of the review requests or eligible reviews to help out your fellow participants and earn some additional points in the process.
If you have any questions, please leave a message on the contest talk page or ask one of the coordinators: Arconning (talk · contribs), Generalissima (talk · contribs), Magentic Manifestations (talk · contribs), sawyer777 (talk · contribs), or TechnoSquirrel69 (talk · contribs). Proposed deletion of Saugut

The article Saugut has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Tagged for needing sources for over 7 years. No other language has a reliably sourced article from which to translate; the German language article is sourced to blogs. Unsourced one-sentence page about a TV show. Google search found nothing relevant.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.
If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. Bearian (talk) 21:00, 8 September 2026 (UTC)
- I'm overwhelmed with the information content of that one! 😂 ♦ Dr. Blofeld 08:57, 9 September 2026 (UTC)

- A district of a major city with one of the most important universities in northern Africa and 15,000 inhabitants. I highly doubt it is "non notable". I would guess most sources are in Arabic, did you look in that? ♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:36, 12 September 2026 (UTC)

DYK A-Z
Hello! I just saw your DYK A-Z country challenge and I'm interested in knowing more about it. Is there any way I could participate or help? I love stuff like this! Froglord (Finnfrog99) (talk) 17:17, 16 September 2026 (UTC)
- Thought I should link my DYK list Froglord (Finnfrog99) (talk) 17:19, 16 September 2026 (UTC)
- Rosiestep and myself never finished it, but you're welcome to work on DYKs for the missing countries! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 07:44, 17 September 2026 (UTC)
- I've added Ireland (Irish War News, but I have plenty.), Kuwait (Saif al-Arab (play)), Palestine (Stop The Game), and Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha (Volcano Radio) Froglord (Finnfrog99) (talk) 12:45, 17 September 2026 (UTC)
- Very nice work! If it motivates you, go for it! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:53, 17 September 2026 (UTC)
- Fond memory working on this list with Dr. B. Maybe you have a partner that you enjoy working with, too, Finnfrog99? --Rosiestep (talk) 13:29, 17 September 2026 (UTC)
- We certainly found some very interesting topics to write about!! Nvvchar hasn't edited since September 2023. He would be late 80s by now I would guess, but I would imagine isn't with us anymore. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:36, 17 September 2026 (UTC)
- I usually just make articles by myself, but I have reached out to a few other people before to make new articles together before, though none of those have been finished yet. Froglord (Finnfrog99) (talk) 13:56, 17 September 2026 (UTC)

Women in Green's October 2026 Edit-a-thon

Hello Dr. Blofeld:
WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2026!
Running from October 1 to 31, 2026, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Around the World in 31 Days! All experience levels welcome. Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films or organizations created by women) during the event period — and this time, we are extending our focus to encourage more Did You Know (DYK) submissions spotlighting new GA articles about women and women's works. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 countries (or broader international articles) by the event's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.
We hope to see you there!
