Valeriia Trifonova (Russian: Валерия Сергеевна Трифонова; born 11 June 2002) is a Russian freestyle wrestler who competes in the 72–76 kg weight categories.[1]

Trifonova began her wrestling career in 2015, winning the Russian schoolgirls' championship in the 70 kg category.[2] She became a cadet national champion in 2017 and later represented Russia at the European Cadet Championships, where she placed fifth.[3]

In 2020, Trifonova won the Russian Junior Wrestling Championships in the 68 kg category, defeating Elizaveta Petlyakova in the final.[4] She earned bronze medals at the Russian Junior Championships in 2021 and 2022.[5]

In 2023, she became the Russian student champion in the 72 kg class and later that year won bronze at the 2023 Russian Women's Wrestling Championships.[6] She also won gold at the 2023 International University Sports Festival in Yekaterinburg.[7]

In 2024, she captured the Russian U23 title and went on to claim a bronze medal at the 2024 U23 World Wrestling Championships in Tirana, Albania, defeating Hungary’s Zsófia Virág in the bronze-medal bout.[8]

At the 2025 European Wrestling Championships in Bratislava, she competed in the 76 kg category, losing in the quarterfinals to Belarusian wrestler Anastasia Zimenkova.[9] In June 2025, she reached the final of the 2025 Russian Women's Wrestling Championships, finishing with a silver medal after losing to Kristina Shumova.[10]
