Vernon Lewis Jr. (born October 27, 1970) is an American former professional football player who was a defensive back for four seasons with the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Pittsburgh Panthers.
Vernon Lewis Jr. was born on October 27, 1970, in Houston, Texas.[1] He attended Kashmere High School in Houston.[1] He also participated in track and field in high school.[2] Lewis was inducted into the Kashmere Former Athletes Association Hall of Fame in 2023.[2]
Lewis was a three-year letterman for the Panthers of the University of Pittsburgh from 1990 to 1992.[1] He recorded two interceptions in 1990 while also returning three punts for 34 yards.[3] He returned two kicks for 39 yards in 1991.[3] Lewis made three interceptions during the 1992 season.[3]He majored in criminal justice in college.[2]
