Vince Tyra (/ˈtr/ TY-ray)[1] (born December 1, 1965) is an American businessman[2][3][4] and athletic administrator, who is best known for his tenure as the athletic director at the University of Louisville. He served in this role from 2018 until his resignation in December 2021. Tyra replaced embattled Tom Jurich, who faced allegations of misconduct regarding the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball corruption scandal.[1][5]

Tyra is currently Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions at Houchens Industries.[6][7]

Tyra's father, Charlie Tyra, played basketball for the Louisville Cardinals men's basketball program from 1954 to 1957 and is regarded as one of the greatest players in program history.[8] In 1984, Tyra graduated from Trinity High School in Louisville and in 1988 he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in health administration from the University of Kentucky.[9]
