Wang Luolin

Wang Luolin (Chinese: 王洛林; pinyin: Wáng Luòlín; June 1938 – 26 June 2026) was a Chinese economist, educator and politician who served as party secretary of Xiamen University between 1989 and 1994.

Wang was an alternate member of the 13th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, 14th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and 16th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, and a member of the 15th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.[1] He was a delegate to the 9th and 10th National People's Congress.

Life and career

Wang was born in Wuchang (now Wuchang District of Wuhan), Hubei, in June 1938, to Wang Yanan [zh], an economist.[1][2] In 1960, he graduated from the Department of Economics, Peking University.[1] Starting in 1961, he successively served as lecturer, associate professor, and full professor of Xiamen University.[1] He was appointed vice president in 1984, concurrently serving as party secretary since 1989.[1] In 1993, he was appointed vice president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.[1]

Wang died on 26 June 2026, at the age of 88.[3]
