The Washington State Department of Information Services (DIS) was a Governor's Cabinet-level agency that provided information technology assistance to state and local agencies, school districts, tribal organizations, and qualifying nonprofit groups in Washington.[1]
The Legislature created DIS in 1987 from the consolidation of the state's four independent data processing and communications systems.[2] The agency employed nearly 450 workers who provide more than 100 technology services.[3] It merged into the Department of Enterprise Services (DES) in 2011.
