"Whiskey" is a song by American Southern rock band Copperhead.[4] On February 16, 1993 it was officially released as the third single from their self-titled debut album, released via Mercury Records. The song achieved an exceptional amount of success, debuting at #54 on the R&R AOR Tracks Chart on February 12, 1993, peaking at the #37 position.[5]
After the release of their second single, "Busted" in October 1992, the band spent the majority of their time touring heavily all across the United States in support of their self-titled debut album released earlier in 1992. The song's recording sessions were split into two different studios, at Southern Tracks Studio in Atlanta, Georgia and Ardent Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. Both Carswell and Byrd contributed to the tracking the slide guitar instrumentals featured in the song with Durden providing the track's organ and backing vocals.[6]

On February 12, 1993 "Whiskey" debuted at the #54 position on R&R's AOR Tracks Chart, remaining on the chart for six consecutive weeks before peaking at the #37 position.[7]
