White Out is the second and final studio album by the American band Verbow, released in 2000.[2][3] The band broke up two years later.[4] The album's first single was "New History".[5] Verbow supported the album by touring with Counting Crows.[6]
The album was produced primarily by Brad Wood.[7][8] It was recorded over five weeks in northwestern Indiana, in a house along Lake Michigan; the title refers to weather conditions that trapped the band in the studio.[9][10] The band's sound focused on Jason Narducy's guitar work and, especially, Alison Chesley's cello playing.[11][12] Lennie Dietsch played bass on some tracks.[13] Several songs touch on themes of renewal and change.[14]
