Henry Parkes - an article marked as high-importance for Wikiproject Australia

Just had to remove a substantial amount of material from Henry Parkes, an article marked as high-importance for Wikiproject Australia, as it was copied from the Dictionary of Australian Biography (public domain in Australia, but not the USA). As such, it's got a lot of sections missing. Figured if any page watchers wanted a project, this would be a nice one. GreenLipstickLesbian💌🧸 02:15, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

Actually, in related news - if anybody wants, any article with a green check listed by it at Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/Dictionary of Australian Biography has been edited to remove text copied from the Dictionary of Australian Biography. Sometimes these removals have left the articles quite bare-bones stubs - meaning that, should anybody need an incentive, they should be much easier to bring up to WP:DYK's 5x expansion. GreenLipstickLesbian💌🧸 03:57, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
@BindiS:@Laterthanyouthink: I first became aware of this mass content deletion by @GreenLipstickLesbian: (and others) a couple of days ago, which involved biographies on my watchlist that she has not even listed (let alone with a green tick!) in Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/Dictionary of Australian Biography - e.g. Walter Hughes (pastoralist), Frederick Holder, John Michael Higgins (businessman) - so this means that there are many hundreds of affected articles that will need to be looked at and fixed with new content and citations, not just those listed on the CCI. The original DAB source contains 1,030 biographies, indicating all of the corresponding WP articles will need to be checked. Bahudhara (talk) 01:32, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
@Bahudhara Yeah, sorry about that -- before the CCI was officially opened, I was doing the cleanup in my own time, but not writing anything down. You can see a rough list of articles I removed material from using this search:. Once the CCI officially opened, a few days ago, my note taking was allowed to get substantially better (aka I woke up to discover page has been kidnapped from userspace, so I expect I actually need to start taking notes understandable to other human beings?). GreenLipstickLesbian💌🧸 02:05, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Actually, if you're happy to suffer the load times, this edit summary search should bring up most of my removals. Haldf of them show up as [+nan] due to revision deletions, meaning that those are the ones most likely to be left as stubs. GreenLipstickLesbian💌🧸 07:03, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Bahudhara - Oh no, that's a pain. Looks like an enormous project. I don't particularly want to get involved in this in a big way now as I am counting down to going away in a few weeks' time and will be mostly off-wiki for around 7 weeks. Do we need to set up a specific project to do this? Laterthanyouthink (talk) 03:28, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

Peer review of Murder of Stephanie Scott article

Hi all, I recently wrote Murder of Stephanie Scott and had it promoted as a good article. I'd like to potentially take it to featured article status, so I've requested a peer review at Wikipedia:Peer review/Murder of Stephanie Scott/archive1. If anyone here is interested in having a read and providing their thoughts, I'd much appreciate it! SnowyRiver28 (talk) 06:50, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
