WP:UNDUE coverage of a border crossing with many entirely uncited paragraphs. I don't believe it should be merged into Cross Border Xpress, as that article itself has a oversized history section that should probably be trimmed or reworked. ~Darth StabroTalk • Contribs 18:24, 21 April 2026 (UTC)

- Keep There are over 100 citations; some paragraphs missing citations means they should be tagged or modified as necessary, not that the whole article should be deleted. I agree that this is an unusually detailed history for something like this, but that's not what WP:UNDUE is about... I see a lot of wordiness that could be condensed but not a justification for deletion altogether. Reywas92Talk 19:11, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
- Comment from the original source 2014- The original Cross Border Xpress page going back to 2014, included all the information. It went through a long vetting process. Due to its size, it was then divided into 2 parts: Cross Border Xpress and History of the Cross Border Xpress by the creator of the page, I WAS NOT the creator of either page, but the person who did create the page worked for Aeromexico and flew to San Diego and reviewed my data. Wikipedia legal department in San Francisco was also involved. They were contacted by the legal department of the California Department of Transportation to resolve ownership of the submitted plans/drawings, which I designed and own. The process of making this project happen, took 20 years, thousands of pages of correspondence and hundreds of meetings. This was all vetted by Wikipedia consensus 12 years ago, and by documents sent to Wikipedia Legal. The page was not deleted, and all the images were reinstated. I made no secret of who I was. Since this was my project from day 1, from Mexico City, to San Diego, to Sacramento and Washington DC. Yes, the concept could be summarized in 3 paragraphs; a terminal/bridge was built, cost $128 million, 4 million annual users, and in December 2025, was acquired by GAP for $2.2 billion, end of story. That promotes no knowledge or understanding. The reason this project took so long, in 1991, the San Diego Association of Governments wanted to build a bi-national airport. Gilberto Valenzuela and I proposed a phased counterproposal, but then the Sinaloa Cartel started building tunnels where the runways were supposed to be, and ASA suggested building the crossing over the disputed Ejido Tampico, where the tunnel entrances were. I was the project manager trying to make peace with all the conflicting parties and worked out of the Tijuana airport. This is the only true crossborder airport terminal in the world, but that in itself, means nothing. There were three other components to that project, which were never made public and which the investors cut out. I did not include them because I never made them public and most of the articles published, I was the originating source. I put details and correspondence numbers as those records are kept in the archives in Mexico City. They do not appear in a simple Google search, but the details give a research student a starting point. AI cannot process what it does not have access to. One of the functions of Wikipedia is to preserve knowledge and information that is generally lost. Ralph Nieders. Rnieders (talk) 01:51, 22 April 2026 (UTC)
- Keep due to multiple reliable sources, but please God, trim it down. This article could be three paragraphs, but instead it's a play-by-play of several years of minor events that borders on WP:TRIVIA. WP:UNDUE is an understatement. "On January 18, 2006, Gilberto Lopez Meyer, General Director of the Under-Ministry of Transportation of the Civil Aviation Administration(Subsecretaria de Transporte, Direccion General de Aeronautica Civil 101.095), contacted Ralph Nieders/Casey Development in reference to the Mexican National Palace folio (Palacio Nacional, FOLIO:201457543-61) to initiate a dialogue and study process for the "Cross Border Terminal"." - If this article could be three paragraphs long, then the 'History' section on the Cross Border Xpress article should be enough and this article should be deleted. — Itzcuauhtli11 (talk) 23:08, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
- Exactly my thoughts. ~Darth StabroTalk • Contribs 01:06, 22 April 2026 (UTC)

CommentDelete : This article is extremely bloated and full of irrelevant information that doesn't belong in an encyclopedic article. It needs major trimming. For example, a paragraph of 100+ words about who wasn't invited to the opening ceremony doesn't belong there. Parcel numbers, names of the companies directors, meetings between executives, names of subcontractor are all irrelevant.
- Some important events are more or less well sourced, which would point to the subject of this article relevant enough to keep. But after trimming the article down, the information will surely be already included in 'History' on the Cross Border Xpress article, making a delete probably the best choice.
- As a comment, the section 'history' on the Cross Border Xpress article has many of the same problems. — Itzcuauhtli11 (talk) 22:48, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
- Is Rnieders, a major contributor to the article, the same Ralph Neiders mentioned several times in it? — Itzcuauhtli11 (talk) 23:01, 21 April 2026 (UTC)

- Redirect to Cross Border Xpress#History as a WP:ATD-R. S5A-0043🚎(Talk) 02:10, 23 April 2026 (UTC)
- Keep as WP:SPINOFF of Cross Border Xpress#History. It is very detailed, but spinoffs are for information that would be undue at the parent article. Some paragraphs are uncited, but they are very likely to be true. Kelob2678 (talk) 20:24, 23 April 2026 (UTC)
- Keep Any problems with unsourced text can be sourced or removed per WP:NOTCLEANUP and WP:ATD-E. Covering the history in the main article of the Cross Border Xpress would cause problems with article size and WP:UNDUE problems would occur as the article is large with more than 100 sources in it.
