Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Arizona
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion and merging of articles related to Arizona. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Arizona|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Arizona. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

(semi-)perennial candidate who has attracted little independent coverage outside of campaigns. BEFORE brings up some interviews and passing mentions, but not, I think, enough to establish WP:NBIO. Probably best claim to notability is serving on the Tuscon city council, but I think we would need more coverage. Eddie891 Talk Work 17:57, 3 July 2026 (UTC)

* Delete per nom. Yesterday, all my dreams... (talk) 18:42, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
- Comment: it would appear that this is the same subject as the prior two nominations, both of which ended in deletion–and it was even salted for a time in 2009–2010 (after the first nomination and a G4-eligible recreation), which was removed because sourcing at the time indicated there was more feasibility for an eligible article than had apparently been the case beforehand–but the second nomination from 2018 would appear to indicate that this had not changed. More recently, this had been a stable redirect to 2010 United States Senate election in Arizona, which was overwritten by a TA (there really needs to be a way to fix this circumvention of the longstanding prohibition on unregistered users creating new articles directly in mainspace, but that's another matter); given his multiple candidacies for multiple offices, I'm not sure restoring that is the way to go, and if this is deleted again bringing back the salting from 16 years ago is probably for the best (if the sourcing and notability do in fact improve in the future, nowadays that can just mean an AfC requirement). No opinion beyond that. WCQuidditch ☎ ✎ 21:48, 3 July 2026 (UTC)

Per WP:CRIME, the victim is neither a renowned figure, nor is the motivation or execution of the crime unusual or noteworthy. The subject is only notable in connection with a single event, and per WP:PSEUDO, this would generally mean a merge with an article about the event; however, the event itself is also not notable. The event has been covered by several news and media outlets; however, this is more a product of the local media culture than correlation with notability. Per WP:BASIC, "primary sources may be used to support content in an article, but they do not contribute toward proving the notability of a subject." Subject meets all three criteria of WP:BLP1E and primarily criteria 2 of WP:NOTNEWS. Sesamehoneytart 00:11, 2 July 2026 (UTC)

Comment: 97 results for her at newspapers.com, the vast majority of them discussing her stage work, a couple where she is representing SAG.—BrechtBro (talk) 14:28, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- Delete. Never appeared on Broadway. Only four small parts in films/TV. Her obit does not indicate any substantial roles in notable production. -- Ssilvers (talk) 05:03, 1 July 2026 (UTC)
- Delete Article fails WP:NACTOR. Having a few minor credits and local union involvement doesn't meet the threshold for notability. Isn't enough to satisfy WP:GNG. Staticspector (talk) 23:42, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. Masterhatch (talk) 14:23, 4 July 2026 (UTC)
