Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Business

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a collection of discussions on the deletion and merging of articles related to Business. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.

Adding a new AfD discussion
Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
  1. Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
  2. You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Business|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
Removing a closed AfD discussion
Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
Other types of discussions
You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Business. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
Further information
For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

Article about a university professor, not properly referenced as having any strong claim to passing WP:NPROF. As always, academics are not automatically entitled to have Wikipedia articles just because they exist, and have to be properly sourced as passing certain specific defined criteria for inclusion -- but this is "referenced" entirely to directly-affiliated primary sources (his faculty profile on the self-published website of the institution where he teaches and the self-published website of an academic program he founded), with not a single third-party source shown at all, and has been tagged for that problem since 2015 without ever having any new reliable sources added. Bearcat (talk) 12:08, 10 July 2026 (UTC)

  • He might be notable, but his self-publicity is drowning out any real signal. He's on so many speakers' bureaus and podcasts, that I can't find proper independent reliable source coverage. Fences&Windows 20:48, 12 July 2026 (UTC)

I work in advertising and have been claimed to be AI in my own emails to people, I'm autistic, not AI.

I write in docs or notes and then copy directly to Wiki.
For your best practice should i do it all in sandbox? Gordongeraghty (talk) 12:55, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
No, you referenced your own sandbox, hinting that you've used it and there's something there to paste things from. There isn't any. Why did you say that? 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk 12:57, 8 July 2026 (UTC)

GPTZero, while not perfect, shows this as 74.6% AI generated... and that's only counting the text. SuperCode111 (talk to me!) 12:53, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
Content is copied from multiple sources and paraphrased during edits.
Not to try go against the system, rather do you know how to make it "not be AI" if the content is coming from genuine sources?
AI will reference genuine sources Gordongeraghty (talk) 12:56, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
AI hallucinates sources, because of the way it works. AI only turns your input into numbers (vectors) representing ideas and then uses maths to calculate or guess what the most likely response numbers would be. As such it may often cite things that are only likely to exist, such as assuming a wikipedia page exists at a place.
It turns out (after testing with a couple of articles) that my AI detector is not particularly good (it was detecting anything with markdown as AI) but the text does still show AI-like patterns. SuperCode111 (talk to me!) 13:01, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
  • Draft This concept exits [], but better sources are needed. AI is always a concern, but I'd let this be drafted so it can be improved. I pulled up a dozen sources in Gscholar and Books, this would be easy enough to fix. Oaktree b (talk) 13:56, 8 July 2026 (UTC)

Fails [WP:ORG]. A recently founded air taxi company that makes no credible assertion of wiki significance. Lordofhunter (talk) 19:14, 2 July 2026 (UTC)

Dear Lordofhunter, I wrote this article - which is still under construction - looking at the future and within the projects Brazilian Aviation, and Brazilian airlines. This air taxi company has requested rights to operate systematic flights from Cuiabá to Campo Novo do Parecis and other cities in the State of Mato Grosso, filling a present void. Also, it has been much used by the tourism industry. I will update the article accordingly, with references, as soon as I have time. I thank for your understanding. While this current version did apparently pass AfC in 2024, that seems to have come after a few other attempts in mainspace that were draftified; at some point it will be time to bring out the salt. Keep: This is the third time this article has been nominated, but the situation has completely changed since the earlier discussions. Fly91 is no longer a proposed startup or a paper airline, it is a fully operational scheduled commercial airline with regular flights and an active fleet.
The airline easily clears the bar for WP:GNG and WP:COMPANY. It has received extensive, in-depth coverage in major Indian national media (like The Hindu, Economic Times, and Mint) covering its funding, route expansions, and business strategy. This isn't just routine PR or directory listings, it is significant secondary coverage.
If the current references in the article need cleaning up, that's an editing issue to fix (WP:PRESERVE), not a reason to delete a clearly notable topic. The sources exist to build a solid encyclopedia article, so deletion makes no sense here. Wikipicked (talk) 07:13, 10 July 2026 (UTC)

Keep: The previous deletion discussions were centered around the airline being basically a paper airline, a project that might start flying in the future. As of today the situation has changed significantly, as the airline has begun operations and is now a fully-fledged airline ferrying passengers around. Some references seem to be outdated and from the 2024 era of "We will have this airline in the future", but the situation is not nowhere near severe enough to completely remove a solid-ish article. Seqv 13:13, 10 July 2026 (UTC)

  • Delete. (Upgrading my previous comment). The recent "Keep" votes seem to rely on the argument that because this is no longer a "paper airline" and has actually started flying, it is automatically notable. That is a fundamental misunderstanding of WP:NCORP and WP:EXISTENCE. Simply operating a business does not grant notability. We require significant, independent, secondary coverage—and what we have right now is pure WP:CHURNALISM and routine PR announcements. To break down the sources provided by the Keep voters: ** The Hindu is routine coverage of a route launch. This falls explicitly under WP:ROUTINE and WP:NOTNEWS. ** Economic Times and Mint here is identical syndicated by PTI wire which directly shares company's own press releases. This completely fails the independence requirement of WP:ORGIND. None of these sources demonstrate the in depth, independent journalistic analysis required to establish corporate depth WP:CORPDEPTH. Unless someone can provide highquality investigative journalism or deep financial analysis of this specific entity that isn't just regurgitating their PR packet, this fails NCORP, the only notability guideline to refer.
