Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Singapore

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a collection of discussions on the deletion and merging of articles related to Singapore. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.

Adding a new AfD discussion
Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
  1. Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
  2. You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Singapore|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
Removing a closed AfD discussion
Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
Other types of discussions
You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Singapore. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
Further information
For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

This actress and model appears to fail WP:NACTOR. Sourcing are from IMDb, Netflix and other junk sites. Santa Saana (talk) 12:35, 26 July 2026 (UTC)

Delete. While there is an older 2023 deletion log attached to this page title, that discussion was for a completely different person. The page has been entirely rewritten to profile a different individual, but this new subject also fundamentally fails Wikipedia's core guidelines.

The article should be deleted for the following reasons:

  • Fails General Notability Guidelines (WP:GNG): The subject is an undergraduate student and junior-level amateur racing driver. A broad search reveals that outside of Wikipedia, the subject has virtually no footprint or coverage in secondary, reliable sources.
  • Fails Athlete Notability (WP:NATHLETE / WP:NMOTORSPORT): The subject does not meet the specific notability guidelines for athletes or motorsport figures. They have not competed in a fully professional, top-tier international series, nor have they achieved any notable podium finishes or championships that warrant an encyclopedic entry. Their participation is limited to entry-level junior formula events (such as guest driving in Italian F4) where they were ineligible to score points.
  • Poor and Non-Independent Sourcing (WP:RS / WP:PRIMARY): The existing references rely heavily on self-published material, social media profiles, and primary race result databases rather than independent, analytical journalism.
  • Conflict of Interest / Promotional Content (WP:COI / WP:PROMO): The tone of the page reads like a personal resume or a profile meant to attract sponsors, likely created by someone close to the subject. Wikipedia is not a platform for personal promotion or hosting portfolios for undergraduate students.

For these reasons, the subject does not meet the threshold for inclusion. ScienceIsForEveryone101 (talk) 08:21, 23 July 2026 (UTC)

Comment: I hadn't taken a look at the article yet but the opening statement is quite clearly AI-generated. S5A-0043🚎(Talk) 08:53, 24 July 2026 (UTC)
  • Delete but for the love of God, do not use AI to write your nomination. Jain lacks WP:SIGCOV beyond a couple of paragraphs at The Straits Times. This page actually predates the earlier AfD, and was recently moved to the current title. It was created in 2022 when Jain was an F4 backmarker—he wasn't notable then, and he isn't notable now. Procedural nomination: declined WP:PROD due to previous AFD.

Original nomination by ~2026-40387-95, with rationale: "notability––her only listed prizes are college ones, she is not mentioned in any major source, nor is she behind any major conceptual innovation. Her body of literary work does not meet the standards of notability; all of this information is available on her website, and those interested in her work will find her there."   Chris Woodrich (talk) 00:38, 21 July 2026 (UTC)
