State legislative council elections missing from 2026 elections in India etc.

In 2026 elections in India, and all such similar pages for other years, there is no mention about the biennial elections conducted to the six State legislative councils of India by the Election Commission of India, the upper houses of bicameral state legislatures, similar to the Rajya Sabha. These are all high traffic articles that frequently turn up in WP:TOP25, this probably just slipped through the cracks since legislative councils are not there in every state and do not garner the same level of media attention. However, they are a core part of the constitution of the State in India and this omission merits correction. Rajanala Samyak (talk) 13:22, 16 April 2026 (UTC)

Subject: Invitation and request  to neutral editors: Independent drafting requested for Sansad Ratna Awards

Namaste. My name is Prime Point Srinivasan, and I am the founder of the Prime Point Foundation. I am writing to this specific WikiProject because you are the experts in documenting the history and institutions of Indian governance.

In 2010, on the personal suggestion of former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, our foundation established the Sansad Ratna Awards to recognise top-performing Members of Parliament and Parliamentary Committees based entirely on non-partisan, quantitative data pulled from PRS Legislative Research and the official Lok Sabha/Rajya Sabha Secretariats. We have completed 17 years, hosted 15 ceremonies, and presented 143 awards. All the award winners have received the awards in person.  An eminent Jury committee of senior award winning Parliamentarians, retired constitutional authorities and eminent academicians select the awardees every year. This upcoming June/July, we are hosting our 16th edition and crossing a historical milestone of 150 total awards presented.

An article on these awards was attempted over a decade ago by one of our well wishers but was deleted. We want to ensure everything follows Wikipedia’s highest standards today.

Conflict of Interest (COI) Disclosure: Because I am the founder, I have a clear conflict of interest and I will not be writing or editing the article space myself. I am reaching out to ask if an independent, neutral editor from this project would be interested in reviewing our public footprints and drafting an encyclopedic page via the Articles for Creation (AfC) process.

To ensure absolute transparency without violating our internal jury policies, we have structured all verified, non-confidential reference points—including our public jury panels (chaired by constitutional authorities like Shri Hansraj G. Ahir and co-chaired by former CEC Shri T.S. Krishnamurthy and Shri Bhartruhari Mahtab MP), our historical timeline, and recent widespread national breaking-news media coverage (PTI, ANI, etc.)—transparently on our official portal.

I am happy to act strictly as a reference librarian to provide any public URLs or historical timelines required by a neutral writer. Thank you for your time and for your dedication to documenting Indian parliamentary history.

regards

Srinivasan

To assist any neutral editors interested in reviewing our independent media footprint, alongside our official website (http://www.sansadratna.in), here is a direct link to the [https://www.google.com/search?q=sansad+ratna+awards&tbm=nws Google News Search Results for Sansad Ratna Awards]. This shows the widespread, multi-year national coverage across platforms like PTI, ANI, and major national dailies. SrinivasanPPF (talk) 05:18, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
