Discussion at Template talk:Infobox venue#Fields for buildings with synonymous organizations

I've started a discussion at infobox venue, which is widely used on pages for theaters and theater organizations, about how it currently lacks key fields for artistic organizations, in order to generate a solution BrechtBro (talk) 19:41, 2 January 2026 (UTC)

Discussion regarding parameter use in Infobox basketball biography

There is a discussion on a certain parameter in the Template:Infobox basketball biography regarding what situations it should be used in. For those interested, the discussion can be found here. Alvaldi (talk) 19:18, 25 February 2026 (UTC)

AfD at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/United Kingdom railway station categories

Hi, I've opened up an AfD for United Kingdom railway station categories. It may be of interest to members of this WikiProject as most uses of {{Infobox station}} in regard to UK railway stations (e.g. Birmingham New Street railway station, Manchester Piccadilly station) use it (it appears to have been used in the substitution when Template:Infobox GB station was merged into Template:Infobox station), and {{Infobox London station}} relies on it for the dft_category parameter. Respectfully dissenting, Coleisforeditor (talk) 13:24, 21 March 2026 (UTC)

Monochrome company logos with light/dark mode radio buttons

Apple white logo with default background
The same file, with gray background

I believe we have an issue with the display of monochrome company logos in Infoboxes where radio buttons are offered for light/dark versions, especially with black company logos which have official alternate white versions for dark mode (or the converse), and I would like to discuss possible solutions. As an example demonstrating the problem, consider the appearance of the infobox at the Apple Inc. page, when selecting any of the radio buttons other than the default. An empty white rectangle displayed for the white log; this is not helpful. (I don't see anything in the archives about this.)

In the case of Apple, Wikicommons has a bunch of their logos, shown here. The one labeled "white" only works when presented on a dark background.

Imho, we should include gray background for monochrome logos in Infoboxes, so that both white and black logos are visible in the Infobox. (The field of photography has long used a middle gray ("18% gray") as a standard background for portraits and other purposes, and that would be my suggestion for a default background for monochrome logos.) It would need to be parametrically overridable for cases of logos that were too close to that value. For example, the gray Apple logo may be too close to be easily visible with a gray background. This is not a problem for this particular case, as the gray logo is not used in any English Wikipedia article, but it might be for other logos.

This section was inspired by a question from User:Epicazowski who asked a slightly different question on my Talk page about monochrome company logos in dark mode.

In the case of another logo raised by the OP for company Roblox, we have only File:Roblox Logo 2022.svg in black, although the company has a series of logos including a white one. This would not work with a black background. The proposed solution of using gray in the Infobox would work on the Roblox page, and would also work if we added a white Roblox logo to Wikicommons.

What I would like to discuss, is whether we should alter current practice and/or advice in the general case, to encourage visibility of monochrome logos in Infoboxes irrespective of the choice of light or dark mode. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 20:25, 6 April 2026 (UTC)

YES, I mentioned this here and I would just keep removing the white logo because it blended in with the light mode background. We need to fix this Epicazowski (talk) 20:47, 6 April 2026 (UTC)
