Early life

Weaver was born on October 12, 2000, in Orlando, Florida.[1] He attended Orlando Christian Prep and recorded 2,124 receiving yards with 32 touchdowns in his high school career.[2] Ranked a three-star recruit, he committed to play college football for the South Florida Bulls and became the first person from his school to sign with an FBS team.[3][4][5]

College career

Weaver played all 12 games as a true freshman in 2019 and recorded 12 catches for 166 yards.[1] The following year, he appeared in eight out of nine games and started two, having 10 receptions for 136 yards.[1] In 2021, Weaver started 10 of 11 games for the Bulls and had a team-leading 41 catches for 715 yards and two touchdowns, earning first-team all-conference honors by Pro Football Focus and second-team honors by Pro Football Network.[1][6] Weaver had career-highs with 53 catches for 716 yards and six touchdowns, being named second-team All-AAC.[7]

Weaver announced his intention to transfer in 2023, after receiving an extra year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[7] He ultimately joined the Colorado Buffaloes, and finished his stint at South Florida with 1,735 receiving yards, fourth all-time at the school, and 116 receptions, which ranks sixth.[8] He joined his teammate at South Florida, Jimmy Horn Jr., at Colorado, and was described as a training camp standout.[9][10] In his Colorado debut, he helped them upset TCU 45–42 and recorded 118 receiving yards.[11] One week later, he caught 10 passes for 170 yards and a touchdown in a 36–14 victory over Nebraska.[12]
