Xu Jie (Chinese: 许杰; January 29, 1901 – July 11, 1989) was a Chinese geologist, paleontologist, and stratigrapher, and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Born in Guangde, Anhui, with ancestral roots in Luoshan, Henan, he served as vice minister of the Ministry of Geology and president of the Geological Scientific Research Institute under the ministry. He was a prominent specialist in Paleozoic graptolites and made significant contributions to stratigraphy and paleontology in China.[1]
