Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) is a state,[2] open university, located in Nashik, Maharashtra, India. It was established in July 1, 1989[3] under the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University Act, 1989.[4]

Blockchain technology implemented from late of 2023 and for this YCMOU become India's first University.[6]
VC says, "The university was also planning to increase the number of online courses to over 100 and added that the university intended to train 3 lakh skilled manpower by 2030." on 31st Convocation day.[7]
PhysicsWallah (PW) has partnered with Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) to offer UGC/AICTE-compliant online degree programs, including MBA, MCA, MA English, and BCA. The collaboration aims to expand access to higher education through a Four-Quadrant MOOC model combining self-paced learning, live classes, and assessments. YCMOU manages academic approvals and degree issuance, while PW provides technology, content, and student support. The initiative focuses on creating flexible, digitally inclusive pathways aligned with NEP 2020.[8]
