Yelena Konstantinovna Ubiyvovk (Russian: Елена Константиновна Убийвовк; 22 November 1918 – 26 May 1942) was a partisan and leader of a Komsomol cell during the Second World War. She was posthumously declared a Hero of the Soviet Union on 8 May 1965, over twenty years after her death.[1]

Ubiyvovk was born on 22 November 1918 to a Ukrainian family in Poltava; her father was a doctor. In 1937 she graduated from secondary school with honors. She then enrolled at the astronomy department in the University of Kharkov, which she completed in 1941.[2]
