Yogesh Singh

He earned his Ph.D. in computer engineering and M.Tech. in electronics and communication engineering from the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, Haryana, India.^[6]

He is the former Vice Chancellor of Delhi Technological University (DTU). Prior to joining DTU in 2015, he served as the Director of Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology-NSIT (now known as Netaji Subhash University of Technology) from 2014 to 2017. He served as the Vice-Chancellor of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda from 2011 to 2014. From 2001 to 2006, Professor Singh served as the Dean of Information Technology at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.^[7]

In 2025, he delivered a public speech titled “Naxal Mukt Bharat: Ending Red Terror Under Modi’s Leadership—Why Are Campuses Targets?” In the speech, he warned students and faculty members about what he described as the infiltration of Naxalite ideas disguised as advocacy for weaker sections of society, freedom of speech and women’s rights. He reaffirmed a traditional understanding of social and political power structures and characterized criticism of social institutions and the State as an attack on the integrity of the nation. He also urged students and faculty members to actively report such individuals/voices to the authorities. During the speech, he questioned the acquittal of Professor G. N. Saibaba of the University of Delhi and raised concerns regarding the Professor’s release.^[8][9][10]
