Production
Zanjeerein was officially announced in mid-2025, with principal production beginning in May 2025. It brings together an ensemble cast featuring Sajal Aly, Ahsan Khan, Sahar Hashmi, Danyal Zafar, Samiya Mumtaz, Momal Sheikh, Adnan Siddiqui, and Ameer Gilani.[3] Sahar Hashmi made her appearance in the series as part of the main cast.[4] The project marked the reunion of Sajal Aly and Ahsan Khan after their previous collaboration in 2018 period drama series Aangan. The drama is written by Farhat Ishtiaq, who is known for her earlier works Yeh Dil Mera and Yakeen Ka Safar, and has previously collaborated with director Shahzad Kashmiri.[5][6]
Filming took place across multiple locations in Pakistan.[7] Primary shooting was conducted in Lahore, Karachi and various interior regions of Pakistan. Additional sequences were filmed in northern locations, including Shah Allah Ditta near Islamabad and Naseerabad in Azad Kashmir. The first teaser of the series was released on 5 April 2026 by Hum TV.[8]
