Çataksu is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Olur, Erzurum Province in Turkey.[1][2] Its population is 303 (2022).[3]
The former name of Çataksu is Taoskari. Taoskari (ტაოსკარი), a Georgian place name, means ‘gate of Tao’. Indeed, this settlement is located at the end of the historical Klarjeti region and the beginning of the historical Tao region.[4] This place name is written as Taoskar (طاوسكار) or Tavusker in Turkish.[5][6]
