La discografía de Daft Punk, dúo francés de música house formado en 1993, consiste en cuatro álbumes de estudio, dos en directo, tres álbumes recopilatorios, tres EP, veintisiete sencillos y veinticuatro videos musicales. El dúo se encontraba conformado por Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo y Thomas Bangalter y sus trabajos discográficos fueron distribuidos por diversos sellos discográficos, tales como Soma Records, Virgin Records y Walt Disney Records (estas dos últimas subsidiaras de Universal Music Group). El dúo se conoció en la escuela secundaria y pronto se volvieron muy amigos, lo que los llevó, en 1992, a iniciar su primera banda juntos en compañía de Laurent Brancowitz —guitarrista de la banda Phoenix— llamada Darlin', con la que llegaron a lanzar un EP. Una reseña de la revista inglesa Melody Maker llamó al grupo «A bunch of daft punky thrash», y de ahí surgió su nombre, Daft Punk. Darlin' se desintegró y Guy-Man y Thomas comenzaron a experimentar con sonidos electrónicos y sintetizadores.[1][2] En 1993, Daft Punk estaba en una rave en EuroDisney cuando conocieron a Stuart MacMillan, fundador de Soma Records, al cual le entregaron una demo con las canciones «The New Wave» y «Alive». En 1995, el dúo grabó «Da Funk», que fue un gran éxito comercial, vendiendo 30.000 copias en todo el mundo. Ahí comenzó su búsqueda de un representante, el cual sería Pedro Winter, que los llevó a firmar un contrato con Virgin Records.[3][4] En el año 1997 grabaron su álbum debut, Homework, el cual incluyó una de las demos antes mencionadas, «Alive». «Around the World» fue el sencillo más exitoso, obteniendo la certificación de oro en Australia y la de plata en Francia. Homework logró vender dos millones de copias en todo el mundo y alcanzar el puesto #150 en el Billboard Hot 200 y el puesto #15 en la lista Canadian Albums, junto con más certificaciones de oro en Francia, Estados Unidos e Inglaterra.[5][6] Su segundo álbum de estudio, Discovery, fue lanzado el 13 de marzo de 2001 y logró obtener muy buenas críticas y posiciones en las listas Billboard Hot 200, Dance/Electronic Albums, Catalog Albums y Canadian Albums en las ubicaciones #44, #3, #36 y #2, respectivamente.[7] Del álbum se extrajeron cuatro sencillos, «One More Time», «Aerodynamic», «Digital Love» y «Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger». El primero de estos obtuvo un gran éxito al alcanzar el puesto #1 en Francia y Canadá, el #2 en Reino Unido, el #10 en Australia y Nueva Zelanda y el #61 en el Billboard Hot 100, junto con una certificación de oro en Australia, siendo este su más grande éxito comercial hasta el momento.[8] Además, las canciones del álbum conforman el banda sonora de la película anime de 2003 Interstella 5555, película producida por el mismo dúo y dirigida por Leiji Matsumoto. El dúo ha vendido más de 12 millones de álbumes y más de 15 millones de sencillos en todo el mundo.[9]
