Christella es un género con unas 50 especies de helechos perteneciente a la familia Thelypteridaceae. Comprende 118 especies descritas y de estas, solo 19 aceptadas.[1]

El género fue descrito por Augustin Hector Léveillé y publicado en Flore du Kouy-Tchéou 472. 1915.[2]
Christella: nombre genérico que fue otorgado en honor del botánico suizo Konrad Hermann Heinrich Christ.[3] La mayoría de las plantas se distribuyen en áreas tropicales o subtropicales.[4] Un ejemplo australiano es C. dentata.[5]
