La 41.ª edición del Festival de Cine de Berlín se llevó a cabo del 15 al 26 de febrero de 1991.[1] El festival se abrió con Uranus de Claude Berri.[1]

El Oso de Oro fue otorgado a la cinta italiana La casa de la sonrisa de Marco Ferreri.[2]

La retrospectiva de esta edición incluyó el programa "películas de la Guerra Fría".[3]
