Harald Haarmann

Harald Haarmann (16 de abril de 1946) es un lingüista y científico cultural alemán establecido en Finlandia. Estudió lingüística general, diversas disciplinas filológicas y prehistoria en las universidades de Hamburgo, Bonn, Coímbra y Bangor. Obtuvo su doctorado en Bonn (1970) y su habilitación (titulación de profesor) en Tréveris (1979). [1] Impartió docencia e investigación en diversas universidades alemanas y japonesas. Es vicepresidente del Instituto de Arqueomitología (con sede en Sebastopol, California) y director de su rama europea (con sede en Luumäki, Finlandia).[2] [3] [4]

Haarmann es autor de más de 80 libros y más de 450 artículos y ensayos. También ha editado y coeditado unas 20 antologías . Haarmann escribe libros en inglés y alemán, y artículos en varios idiomas. Algunos de sus libros se han publicado en hasta 17 idiomas. Sus áreas de estudio preferidas son historia cultural, arqueomitología, historia de la escritura, evolución de las lenguas, lingüística de contacto e historia de la religión . [1] [2]
