Etimología
El término Heteranthelium deriva de las voces griegas ἕτερος [jéteros] ('diferente, otro') y ἀνθέμιον [anzémion] ('flor') y alude a la inflorescencia que comprende espiguillas fértiles y estériles o modificaciones.
