Irene Ryder (Hong Kong, Imperio británico, 1949-Hong Kong, 1 de septiembre de 2024)[1] fue una popular cantante de Hong Kong de género pop, intérprete de temas musicales cantados en inglés durante la década de los años 1960.

Carrera musical
En 1966, alcanzó el título no oficial de "Go Go Queen", después de ganar en un concurso de canto denominado "Buscando talento". Su primer sencillo fue "To Sir With Love". Entre sus demás sencillos, uno lo grabó junto a Robert Lee, hermano menor del artista marcial Bruce Lee, y exmiembro de la banda beat The Thunderbirds. Su sencillo se tituló "Baby Baby".
En 1966, Ryder se convirtió en actriz de cine cuando apareció en The Flying Killer, una película de acción y fantasía dirigida por Lung Chien. Su última película fue Cuties Parade, un drama de 1975 dirigido por Pan Lei. Se le atribuye la actuación en cinco películas.
En 1969, fue la única cantante femenina elegida para representar a Hong Kong, en la Exposición Mundial de 1970 en Osaka, Japón.
En 1975 se casó con el artista marcial y prolífico actor Bruce Leung, uno de los numerosos sosias de Bruce Lee que proliferaron tras su muerte creando el subgénero denominado Bruceploitation. Tuvieron una hija, antes de su divorcio a principios de los años 1980.[2]
Su carrera terminó en 1979 después de que fue atacada con ácido justo afuera de su residencia en Tsim Sha Tsui, lo que le causó graves heridas en la cara y requirió casi 20 cirugías.[3]
