Sam Roland Heughan (Dumfries and Galloway, 30 de abril de 1980) es un actor escocés.
Estudió en la Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama en Glasgow.
En 2004, interpretó a Philip Dorr en la miniserie Island at War.[1]
En 2007 participó en un episodio de la serie Rebus.
El 30 de septiembre de 2009, se unió al elenco de la serie Doctors donde interpretó al vendedor de medicamentos Scott Nielson.
En 2010 personificó a un joven Alejandro Magno en la película Young Alexander the Great.
Desde agosto de 2014 protagoniza la serie Outlander, en la que interpreta a Jamie Fraser, un guerrero escocés de 1743.[2] En cine, el elenco The Spy Who Dumped Me, estrenada en 2018,[3] y en 2020, interpretó a Jimmy Dalton en Bloodshot.[4][5] Recibió el premio a mejor actor internacional 2022 de la revista Esquire.[6]
