L'Anniversary Award (aussi surnommé Z) est le nom du trophée itinérant décerné au vainqueur du match annuel de rivalité en football américain universitaire opposant les Falcons de l'université d'État de Bowling Green et les Golden Flashes de l'université d'État de Kent.

Les deux universités, fondées conjointement en 1910, sont situées dans le nord de l'État d'Ohio, la ville de Bowling Green étant située dans le nord-ouest et celle de Kent dans le nord-est.

La série entre les deux universités a débuté en 1920, année où Kent State a présenté sa première équipe de football américain, tandis que le trophée a été introduit en 1985.

Histoire

L'Anniversary Award a été créé par les départements des anciens élèves de chaque université et commémore la fondation des deux institutions, qui a eu lieu en 1910 en application de la loi Lowry. Ce prix a été décerné pour la première fois en 1985 pour célébrer le 75e anniversaire de la fondation de chaque université [1],[2],[3],[4],[5],[6],[7],[8],[9],[10],[11].

La rivalité a été globalement déséquilibrée, Bowling Green ayant remporté 26 des 38 rencontres.
