Emathla, aussi écrit Emarthla, Emathlar, Imatla ou Imała, est un nom d’origine creek et un titre de guerre, Emarv (prononcé /iˈmaː.ɬa/), qui se retrouve comme nom de famille Emarthla[1], Emathla ou Imatla[2], ou dans les toponymes Emathla[3], Mattlacha Pass[4], Pennymottley[5], Otee-Emathlar[6], Yaha-Emathla-Chopco[7].
