Oluwagbenga Olabisi Sesan ⓘ , né le , est un entrepreneur social nigérian connu pour ses contributions dans le domaine des TIC[1].
Enfance et éducation
Sesan nait le à Akure, Ondo, au Nigéria. Il obtient son diplôme d'ingénieur en électronique et en génie électrique à l'Université Obafemi Awolowo en 2002[2]. il étudie ensuite à la Lagos Business School, où il suit les programmes de formation des cadres.
Carrière
Il est un ancien membre du Comité des eLeaders des Nations Unies sur la jeunesse et les TIC[3],[4]. Il est également boursier de CyberStewards[5], boursier du Crans Montana Forum[6], boursier du programme de leadership de l'archevêque Desmond Tutu, membre d'Ashoka en 2007[7],[8], Our Common Future [9] et boursier de Cordes.
Sesan est membre des comités présidentiels sur l'harmonisation des secteurs des technologies de l'information, des télécommunications et de la radiodiffusion (2006)[10], et sur la feuille de route pour la réalisation d'une infrastructure et de services à large bande universels accélérés (2013)[11].
En 2016, Gbenga révèle qu'à la fin de 2017, il céderait son rôle de PDG à quelqu'un d'autre pour poursuivre la politique[12].
En 2022, le Secrétaire général des Nations Unies, António Guterres, nomme Gbenga pour siéger dans le premier groupe de direction du Forum sur la gouvernance de l'internet (FGI) pour un mandat de 2 ans[13],[14].

Pour sa contribution aux TIC, CNN le classe parmi les « 10 voix africaines les plus influentes du secteur technologique » sur Twitter en 2012[12]. La même année, il figure parmi les 40 « Légendes africaines de moins de 40 ans » selon le média nigérian Ventures Africa[12]. En 2014, la Fondation Schwab l'a nommé « Entrepreneur social de l'année »[12].
