Systématique et taxinomie
Ce genre a été décrit par O. Pickard-Cambridge en 1880 dans les Theridiidae. Il est placé en synonymie avec Euryopis par Levi et Levi en 1962[2]. Il est relevé de synonymie par Fitzgerald et Sirvid en 2003[3].
Trigonobothrys[4] a été placé en synonymie par Fitzgerald et Sirvid en 2003[3].
Paoningia[5] a été placé en synonymie par Liu, Liang, Yin et Xu en 2025[6].
