Anthony Lander « Tony » Horwitz (né le 9 juin 1958 à Washington et mort dans cette même ville le 27 mai 2019) est un journaliste et écrivain américain, reconnu pour ses articles et ses ouvrages portant notamment sur l'histoire et la société américaine. Il a reçu le prix Pulitzer du reportage national en 1995.

Parmi ses publications figurent les ouvrages One for the Road: a Hitchhiker's Outback (1987), Baghdad Without a Map (1991), Confederates in the Attic (en) (1998), Blue Latitudes (en) (2002), A Voyage Long and Strange: Rediscovering the New World (2008), Midnight Rising: John Brown and the Raid That Sparked the Civil War (2011) et Spying on the South: An Odyssey Across the American Divide (2019).

Sa femme était l'écrivain Geraldine Brooks^[1].
