APMAA

2002年11月に福岡市で開催された設立準備総会を経て、2004年にマレーシアのマラ工科大学（UiTM）で開催された年次大会において正式に発足した。設立当初は西村明（九州大学名誉教授）が会長を務め、2010年より上埜進（甲南大学名誉教授）が第2代会長に就任。2014年からは理事長制に移行し、上埜が初代理事長（Board Chair）として現在（2026年）に至る。
近年では管理会計にとどまらず、財務会計、ESG、コーポレートガバナンス、監査など、会計学・経営学全般へと研究領域を拡大している。会員は20ヶ国以上に及び、大学研究者に加えて公認会計士（CPA）や実務家も多く参加する産学連携の場となっている。
研究領域と学術的厳格性
学会の研究ポートフォリオは、現代のビジネス環境に合わせて以下の比率で構成されている。
- Management Accounting (40%)
- Financial Accounting & ESG/Sustainability Reporting (30%)
- Governance, Ethics, & Auditing (30%)
学術的な質を担保するため、論文査読にはMicrosoft Conference Management Toolkit (CMT) を導入し、100名以上の国際的な査読者プールを有しており、厳格なダブルブラインド・ピアレビューを実施している。[2]
Annual Conference (年次大会)
APMAAの年次大会は国際的な参加者を集める学術会議として位置づけられている。2019年にカタール・ドーハで開催された第15回年次大会については、現地紙『Gulf Times』が複数国から研究者が参加した国際会議として報じている[1]。また、2018年に日本・東京で開催された大会には、インドネシアのUniversitas Merdeka Malangを含む海外大学の研究者が参加したことが同大学の公式ニュースで確認されている[2]。さらに、2024年にベトナム・ハノイで開催された年次大会は、現地メディアにより国際会議として紹介されている[3]。なお、2011年からは若手研究者育成のための「Doctoral Colloquium」が併設されている。

ウェビナーと教育活動
2020年、COVID-19パンデミックによる年次大会の中止を受け、APMAAはオンラインでのウェビナーシリーズを立ち上げた。今日まで、各国の支部がWebinarを継続的に開催している。バングラデシュ支部は2024年および2026年にWebinarを実施し、その内容はYouTube公式チャンネルで公開されている[4]。また、2023年にはAPMAA Forumがオンライン形式で開催され、研究者による報告書がResearchGate上で公開されている[5]。
