経歴
自身のバンド「アラスノアクシス (AlasNoAxis)」には、エレクトリック・ギターのヒルマール・イェンソン、テナー・サックスとクラリネットのクリス・スピード、ベースのスクーリー・スヴェリソンが参加している。その音楽性は、ジャズよりもポストロックに近い面があり、個々のソロよりも、リズムの変化やアンサンブルのテクスチュアに重点が置かれている。2000年以降、ウィンター&ウィンターから同バンドのアルバムが複数リリースされている。
「パチョラ (Pachora)」は、ブラック、スピード、スヴェリソンに、タンブラとエレクトリック・サズのブラッド・シェピックを加えたグループである。バルカン半島のリズムに着想を得た、多様なリズムを特徴としている。
2007年7月7日、ニューヨークのブルックリンにあるエンパイア・フルトン・フェリー州立公園で開催されたボアダムスのパフォーマンス「77 Boadrum」に、12番ドラマーとして参加した。
また、ティム・バーンとウィルコのネルス・クラインと共に、グループ「BBC (Berne/Black/Cline)」のメンバーでもあり、2011年にアルバム『The Veil』をリリースしている[1]。
