テジュ・コール

ミシガン州生まれ。ナイジェリアで幼少期を過ごし、高校卒業後にアメリカに戻る。

ミシガン大学医学部中退後、ロンドン大学とコロンビア大学で美術史を学ぶ。

2007年、初の著書となる「Every Day Is for the Thief」をナイジェリアで刊行。

2011年アメリカでのデビュー長篇である『オープン・シティ』でPEN／ヘミングウェイ賞およびローゼンタール賞を受賞、全米批評家協会賞の最終候補に。

写真家、美術批評家としても活躍し、ニューヨーク・タイムズ、ニューヨーカー等に精力的に寄稿している。ブルックリン在住。
