デレアヌ フロリン

1959年12月コンスタンツァ生まれ。1979年から1983年までブカレスト大学で中国語と英語を学び、1983年にブカレスト大学外国語学部より修士号（中国語文学と英語英文学）を取得した。その後、北京大学外国語学部の夏季集中コースで2か月間中国語を学んだ際、後の妻となる日本人女性と出会った。1988年に早稲田大学文学部東洋哲学科に入学。同大学院文学研究科東洋哲学専修に進学後、中国仏教の碩学福井文雅教授の指導を受け、1991年に修士号を取得、博士課程を修了した。1994年から1995年までは同大学文学部の非常勤講師を務めた。1994年より2001年まで関西医科大学教養部教授として英語と哲学の講義を担当した。2001年より国際仏教学大学院大学で仏教を講義し、2003年に同大学教授に就任。2009年に同大学国際仏教学研究所所長となり、後に同大学学長に就任した。
1998年にハンブルク大学アジア・アフリカ研究所の博士課程に入学し、ランベルト・シュミットハウゼン教授の指導の下、『瑜伽師地論』の『聲聞地』の一部「世閒道」（laukikamārga） について博士論文を執筆、2005年に哲学博士号（インド哲学・仏教学）を取得した。2001年から2002年までは同大学アジア・アフリカ研究所で客員教授として初期の漢訳仏典史を講義した。
