ギルトには以下の種類がある[2]
- 普通ギルト（Conventional gilts）
- 利付国債（利払いは6ヶ月ごと）。償還期限は5年、10年、30年、50年、55年。最も発行量が多いギルト。
- 指数連動ギルト（Index-linked gilts）
- 英国の消費者物価指数（Retail Price Index）に連動する。普通ギルトに次いで発行量が多い。
- 3ヶ月遅延指数連動ギルト（Three-month lag index-linked gilts）
- 8ヶ月遅延指数連動ギルト（Eight-month lag index-linked gilts）
- 倍年限ギルト（Double-dated conventional gilts）
- 無期限ギルト（Undated gilts）
- 変動利付ギルト（Floating rate gilts）
