Das 14. Fantasy Filmfest (2000) fand in der Zeit vom Mittwoch, den 26. Juli, bis Mittwoch, den 2. August 2000 im Cinema in München, vom Mittwoch, den 2. August, bis Mittwoch, den 9. August 2000 im Turm-Palast in Frankfurt sowie im Metropol und in der Astor-Filmlounge in Stuttgart, vom Mittwoch, den 9. August, bis Mittwoch, den 16. August 2000 in Köln, sowie vom Mittwoch, den 16. August, bis Mittwoch, den 23. August 2000 im Alabama Kino in Hamburg, sowie im Cinestar im Sony Center in Berlin statt. Es bot eine Zusammenstellung von Klassikern aus den verschiedenen Genres des phantastischen Films sowie Welturaufführungen und Produktionen in deutscher Erstaufführung. Neben dem eigentlichen Programm wurden diverse Kurz- und Vorfilme gezeigt. Alle Filme wurden in allen Festivalstädten gezeigt.
