- 1470 - Francesco del Cossa leaves Ferrara for Bologna.[1][2]
- 1473 - Hanseatic privateer Paul Beneke, captain of the Peter von Danzig, boards the galley St. Thomas in the North Sea; among the goods seized is Hans Memling's triptych The Last Judgment.[3]
- 1479 - September: Painter Gentile Bellini is sent by the Senate of Venice to the new Ottoman capital Constantinople as a cultural ambassador.
