The 2023–24 Calgary Flames season was their 44th season in Calgary, and the 52nd season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on June 6, 1972.[2]

On April 4, 2024, the Flames were eliminated from playoff contention for the second consecutive season after a 5–2 loss to the Winnipeg Jets.[3]

  5. The Flames retain 50% of Hanifin's salary and the Philadelphia Flyers will retain 25%.[112][113]
  6. The Flames will receive Vegas' second-round pick instead of the third-round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft if the Golden Knights win a round in the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs.[112]
  7. The Flames received the Vegas Golden Knights' first-round pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft after Vegas traded their 2025 first-round pick to the San Jose Sharks for Tomas Hertl.[114]
  8. The Sharks will receive the higher of the fifth-round picks that Chicago possesses in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.[106]
