In the domestic cup, Rapid were drawn against Regionalliga Ost side SV Wienerberg[4] in the first round and advanced.[5] In the second round, they were drawn against Austria Klagefurt[6] from the Regionalliga Mitte, eventually advancing to the round of 16. Rapid then were drawn against First Vienna in the round of 16.[7]
Remarkable events in the domestic league include a 8–0 win against Grazer AK on matchday 3, their highest in this competition since 1985.[8]
