The genus contains the following species:[2][3]
- Alphaentomopoxvirus acuprea, Anomala cuprea entomopoxvirus
- Alphaentomopoxvirus mmelolontha, Melolontha melolontha entomopoxvirus
Structure
Viruses in Alphaentomopoxvirus are enveloped, with ovoid geometries. The diameter is around 250 nm. Genomes are linear, around 260-370kb in length.[1]
