Aqabad (Persian: آق آباد)[a] is a village in, and the capital of, Aqabad Rural District[4] in the Central District of Gonbad-e Kavus County, Golestan province, Iran.

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 4,085 in 763 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 4,899 people in 1,259 households.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 5,534 people in 1,403 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]
