Astynome

Astynome (Ancient Greek: Ἀστυνόμη, romanized: Astynóme, lit. 'one who rules or manages a city' or 'city-orderer'^[1]) is a name which may refer to one of the following characters in Greek mythology:

• Astynome, one of the Niobids.^[2]
• Astynome, daughter of Talaus and mother of Capaneus by Hipponous.^[3]
• Astynome, commonly referred to by the patronymic Chryseis.^[4][5]
• Astynome, mother by Ares of Calydon who saw Artemis naked and was transformed into a rock by the goddess.^[6]
