Avatar: Seven Havens is an upcoming American animated fantasy action television series created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko for Paramount+. It is a sequel show to Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005–2008) and The Legend of Korra (2012–2014). It follows Avatar Pavi, the successor and reincarnation of Korra, as she and her long-lost twin sister uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens: the central pillars of civilization, in a new and perilous era.

The principle voice cast includes Saheli Khan as Avatar Pavi, alongside Aishu Devan, Akshay Khanna, Major Curda, Sakina Jaffrey, Darren Barnet, Dianne Doan, and Dee Bradley Baker. Creatives from both The Last Airbender and Korra returned, including Jeremy Zuckerman creating original music and Ethan Spaulding, who was a story artist and director on both shows, executive producing. The series is produced by Nickelodeon Animation and Avatar Studios, and La Chouette Compagnie provides animation.
Avatar: Seven Havens is set to premiere on October 9, 2026, on Paramount+. The series has been ordered for two seasons of 13 episodes each.
Premise
Avatar: Seven Havens follows a young earthbender, Pavi, who discovers that she is the next Avatar after Korra. Hunted by enemies both human and spirit, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their strange origins and save the Seven Havens, the central pillars of civilization risen from a world shattered by an apocalyptic event, before it is too late, with the Avatar seen as a destroyer rather than a savior.[1][2]
Voice cast and characters
- Pavi, voiced by Saheli Khan:[3] a young Earthbender living in the city of Ellora, who learns that she is the next Avatar after Korra.
- Nisha, voiced by Aishu Devan:[3] Pavi's twin sister who works alongside her to uncover their origins, which are shrouded in mystery.
- Jae, voiced by Major Curda:[4] an airbender who travels with Pavi and Nisha.
- Geet and Ruhi, voiced by Dee Bradley Baker:[3] Pavi's pet cat-monkey, and Nisha's cat-monkey, respectively.
Other characters include Karthik (Akshay Khanna), Agam (Sakina Jaffrey), Daemin (Darren Barnet), and Zi (Dianne Doan).[3]
Production
Development
In 2018, Netflix announced that a live-action remake of Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005-08) was to start production in 2019.[5][6] The series' original creators, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, were initially announced to be the executive producers and showrunners.[7][8] In June 2020, the creators departed the series due to creative differences.[9] That same year, Nickelodeon licensed the original The Last Airbender as well as The Legend of Korra (2012–2014) to Netflix, which led to a boom in popularity for both series. This success convinced Nickelodeon to rekindle their relationship with Konietzko and DiMartino and explore further opportunities.[10][11]
In February 2021, ViacomCBS announced during its annual Investor Day the formation of Avatar Studios, a new division of Nickelodeon dedicated to the creation of projects based on animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. The series creators and executive producers Konietzko and DiMartino would serve as co-chief creative officers.[12][13] In late 2024, Knight Edge Media reported that a new Avatar series following the story of the Avatar after Korra was in production at Avatar Studios. The report coincided with leaked plot details and production materials across social media.[14][15][16] According to the leaks, the series would star 9-year-old twin earthbender sisters, with one of them being the Avatar.[16]
In February 2025, the series, titled Avatar: Seven Havens, was officially announced for a two-season and 26-episode pick-up at Nickelodeon to coincide with the original series's 20th anniversary. DiMartino and Konietzko were reported to be creators and executive producers on the new series. Also executive producing were Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi.[17][18][19] Nickelodeon Animation and Avatar Studios produce.[4] A first look image of the series debuted at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2025.[20] Alexandra Chiu will be the supervising director for the series.[21]
Casting
In July 2026, along with the first trailer, it was revealed that the voice cast would feature Saheli Khan as Avatar Pavi, alongside Aishu Devan, Akshay Khanna, Major Curda, Sakina Jaffrey, Darren Barnet, Dianne Doan, and Dee Bradley Baker in starring roles and supporting roles.[4]
Animation, design and music
The animation is provided by La Chouette Compagnie, a French animation studio.[22] According to DiMartino and Konietzko, the series' art direction was influenced by French surrealist artist Mœbius and 1990s anime.[20] Avatar: Seven Havens music will be composed by Jeremy Zuckerman, who previously scored Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra with Benjamin Wynn.[23][24]
Release
Avatar: Seven Havens is set to premiere on October 9, 2026, on Paramount+.[4] The series was ordered for two seasons, or "books" of 13 episodes each.[23][17][4] The exact release of each book is still "being determined" according to a series insider.[3] It was originally set to broadcast on Nickelodeon in 2027,[17][23] but during San Diego Comic-Con in July 2026, it was announced that series would premiere earlier on Paramount+,[4][25][26] on the same day that the Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender film was originally scheduled to release.[27][28][29]
